Flexible Respite

Tailored support options allowing carers to take a break from caring responsibilities with peace of mind.

As a carer, it’s important to regularly take time for yourself to rest and recharge.

‘Respite’ or ‘respite care’ is when someone else takes care of the person you care for, so that you can have a break. A break can give you time to do everyday activities or to relax, deal with stress and look after yourself.

Our Flexible Respite options are there to support you and your carer for short periods of time. It can give you both a break and give you the chance to meet new people.

This can also provide carers the opportunity to work, attend to everyday activities, or simply have a break from the demands of their caring role, while ensuring the needs of the care recipient are still met.

If you need a break from your caring role, planned respite options are available. Planned respite can also be beneficial if a carer is planning a trip or has an appointment to attend.

Carer Respite options

In-home respite provides daytime support either in the carer’s or the person’s home.

Community access support provides one-on-one structured activities which offer a social experience and the chance to develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction.

Our respite support services are structured to be as responsive as possible, supporting carers through the flexibility of short-term or non-ongoing respite.
